The inspiration i got for creating this sort of magazine was from the "Rolling Stone". I live in Pakistan where you do not have easy access to this magazine but mostly i somehow manage to keep up to date with them because i find them interesting and very informative about the music industry up to the very last detail. This formed the basics for my research in which i on the internet through various websites got to find out how these magazines do so well. I got to find out their historical background, their targeted audiences, what they include in their magazines that stands out as being unique enough for worldwide recognition, their post production methods and so on.
The fact that this magazine has been around for so long from the 1960's give me chills because its been so long since they have been at this music magazine business and each time they impress me more than the last. There is so much experience that magazine has to offer and i love indulging myself in all that knowledge because history intrigues me and the Rolling Stones magazine has a record of all that stands out in the music industry since the 1960's.
These videos are of Brant Mewborn the senior editor of Rolling Stone magazine in the 1980's, while he was about to leave his job as senior editor he called in a man named Nelson to videotape a tour of the places Brant spent the last 7 years of his life in RS magazine.
These are really interesting videos because such a personal touch is created as the videos were not meant to be a professional outlook of where the Magazine is created but a rather personal feel is added, minimizing bias that would have been created by showing this workplace if it was part of a tv networks documentary. These are some of the reasons why i look to inspiration from Rolling Stone for my Magazine ideas
